High-Resolution Manometry (HRM) is performed with a cutting-edge technology Catheter that has 36 pressure sensors spaced no more than two centimetres apart, which studies the anatomic physiology of oesophageal peristalsis, obtaining a time-space map of the motor activity of the oesophagus, both in its body and its two sphincters (lower and upper) at the same time and better identifying segmental motor disorders and transient relaxations. In short, it provides new assessment parameters and new classification criteria for primary motor disorders.
